Isaiah 7 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Matthew 1 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Prophecies about Jesus Christ are all over the Old Testament and are highlighted in the books of prophets. In two passages above, one from Old and one from New Testament, we see that God promised to His people about the coming of Savior and He fulfilled it by the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Yet, His people rejected, ridiculed and crucified their own Redeemer because they were so blind and refused to see, their hearts were so hardened and calloused and they refused to be healed.
He came to his own and his own received him not (John 1 11).
After thousands of years, they still live in unbelief. Likewise, the world forsakes Jesus and His way.
No wonder Jesus is angry at the world. He died for our sins. He could have refused to go to earth. He could have refused to be beaten, tortured and crucified with His royalty status. However, He volunteered to be slaughtered, for He loved us so much. We must be ashamed of our own sinfulness and sincerely repent of our evil way.
Abide in Him for He is Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
