DON'T QUIT WHEN IT HITS HARD

Ruth 1

15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Don't quit when it hits hard.

Orpah and Ruth, who were the women of Moab (Ruth 1: 4) and married men of Israel, faced the sorrow of losing their husbands. They also had to make decision to go with their mother in law or return to their people. This circumstance that was presented to them was tricky because they were still young and each could easily move on with another marriage. At first, both Orpah and Ruth wanted to go with Naomi, their mother in law.

Ruth 1: 10 And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.

However, Naomi persuaded them to go back to their people. Unlike Orpah, Ruth's spirituality allowed her to wisely choose Jehovah over idols without knowing about her future.

Sometimes we have to deal with many difficulties in life. Satan will surely take advantage of these situations to drive us away from God and obeying His commandments. We must be resilient and persistent and follow God always.
