Joshua 8
34 And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.
35 There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.

People today love to argue, love to debate. They love to pick and choose out of what God commands of them to fit their agenda and to indulge in their filthy desire. However, the passage above proves to us that from one generation to another the Word of God still holds effect. When Israel transitioned from the authority of Moses to Joshua, they must still abide by the law that God instructed the former. Here we see that not even one word was omitted. The word of God does not change under the situation of one time compared to other times. His Word stands the test of time. Before the whole congregation or the nation, Joshua declared the authority and power of the Word of God. The Word was applied to all members within the congregation. It did not matter if the person was a woman, a child, or a stranger. The law was applicable to all of them.
Remember The Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 5
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
We are called to demonstrate higher righteousness than that of the scribes and Pharisees. We ought to display the righteousness of Christ. However, contemporary preachers manipulate the Word of God to gain acceptance and attendance. They allow the practice even scribes and Pharisees would frown upon such as premarital sex and same sex relationships. They invite anything including witchcraft, immodesty, and worldly music and dance. They sugarcoat the Word so that people will be comfortable in their churches, but whomever they win over will not inherit the kingdom of heaven if they do not repent and stop believing in false doctrines.
Christians must remain sober and hold dear to the Word of God so that we will not fall into the traps of those churches and ministers.
